Subdivision

Mom and young son holding hands and walking through neighbourhoodSubdivision is the dividing of at least a single parcel of land into two or more parcels, each to be given a separate title. Subdivision is also used for existing lot line adjustments.

Notwithstanding a few exceptional circumstances, subdivision approval and endorsement by the local municipality must always be received before the subdivision can be registered at the Land Titles Office and titles issued (including bare land condominiums).

All subdivison applications are processed on behalf of the Town through Parkland Community Planning Services (PCPS), while the Town of Ponoka remains the Subdivision Approving Authority (decision-maker) for all subdivision applications.

For further information or assistance, please contact PCPS at (403) 343-3394 or pcps@pcps.ab.ca.

Please note: Extensive subdivision information, including fees, forms and processing times, may also be obtained from the Parkland Community Planning Services website.
