The free household battery recycling program will accept rechargeable and single-use batteries weighing less than 5 kilograms or 11 pounds.
The positive and negative battery terminals (both ends) must be taped using clear packing tape, duct tape or non-conductive electrical tape. The Waste Transfer Station will not accept batteries with painter’s tape, masking tape or scotch tape.
The Waste Transfer Station will also continue to accept vehicle batteries for recycling. Please note that the Waste Transfer Station will not accept any batteries that show signs of damage.
When recycling batteries, citizens are asked to check in by driving onto the scale at the Waste Transfer Station.
