Location: 4515 50 Street in downtown Ponoka
Construction is underway for an expanded multi-use skatepark in Ponoka. The existing Hamilton Skate Park is being extended south to include the space formerly occupied by the Town of Ponoka recycling yard.
The current Hamilton Skate Park features a seven-stair set, bank ramps and a flat bar. Skaters can also ride the rails, quarter pipe and rainbow rail at the skate park.
The new expanded facility has been designed for multi-use equipment, including skateboards, bicycles, inline skates and scooters.
Following extensive public consultation, the design of the expanded skate park will include:
- A 38-metre long snake run;
- Vert and pyramid ramps;
- Landscaping gathering and seating areas; and
- Lighting.
