Town of Ponoka Council Highlights - April 14, 2026

Regular Meeting of Council: 

4.1      Assessor’s Presentation – 2026 Ponoka Council Presentation

Council accepted the Wild Rose Assessment 2026 Ponoka Council Presentation as information. To view the presentation, please click here

7.1      Municipal Grant Funding & Allocation Policy

Council tabled a Notice of Motion and for the Municipal Grant Funding and Allocation Policy to be discussed at a future Priorities and Initiatives Committee Meeting.

7.2      CP-13 Tangible – Capital Asset

Council approved the Tangible Capital Asset Policy as presented. The purpose of the Tangible Capital Asset Policy is to record and report on Tangible Capital Assets.

7.3      Policy CP-16 Purchasing Cards

Council tabled the Purchasing Cards Policy and requested further information from Administration. 

7.4      CP-14 Asset Retirement Obligation

Council approved the Asset Retirement Obligation Policy. The purpose of the Asset Retirement Obligation Policy is to outline the processes involved in accounting for Asset Retirement Obligations.

10.      Correspondence Items

The Town of Ponoka received a letter from Dan Williams, Minister of Municipal Affairs introducing Bill 28, the Municipal Affairs and Housing Statues Amendment Act. 

11.1    Ponoka East District Fire Department Call Volume Statistics

Council accepted the Ponoka East District Fire Department Call Volume Statistics as information.
