Fall Festival Planned on September 22 to Celebrate the Completion of 51 Avenue Redevelopment
The Town of Ponoka is excited to announce it will be hosting a fall festival in Downtown Ponoka on Friday, September 22 to celebrate the reopening and completion of the redevelopment 51 Avenue.
The ‘Fall Fest on 51st’ will feature an evening of live music and tastes of local cuisine from various food vendors in the Town of Ponoka. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on September 22 along 51 Avenue (between 50 Street and 51 Street) and in the parking lot, weather permitting.
“We are excited to host an event in Downtown Ponoka that will bring the community together to celebrate the completion of the extensive improvements that have been completed on 51 Avenue,” said Town of Ponoka Mayor Kevin Ferguson.
“We are especially excited to showcase some of our community’s many excellent restaurants during the event, which will include a Taste of Ponoka component that will allow visitors to sample some of the delicious cuisine available in our community,” he added.
“The redevelopment of 51 Avenue has been a critical capital project that will improve the quality of life for the whole community for many years to come. By hosting this event, the Town of Ponoka is able to showcase the redevelopment of 51 Avenue and the many improvements along the roadway,” said Town of Ponoka Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Sandra Lund.
“The many improvements that were completed on 51 Avenue will help promote economic development in our community and attract new businesses, shoppers and visitors to Ponoka,” she added.
More details about the Fall Fest on 51 Avenue will be provided in the coming weeks.
Admission to the event is free. Tasting tickets will go on sale on Friday, September 1 at the Ponoka Aquaplex and the Ponoka Arena Complex.
