Property taxes in Ponoka are due each year on July 31. Council approves the Town of Ponoka’s municipal budget annually. From the approved budget, we establish a tax rate (mill rate) that applies to property assessments. Please read Bylaw No. 466-22 Tax Rate Bylaw for more information on this year’s tax rate approved by Town Council.
In Alberta, most properties are assessed using a market value approach. Market value is the price a property might reasonably sell for after time and exposure to an open market when sold.
